IMO it's the 2nd best song ever written, followed by 'Downtown'. I'm glad they went with Carl's lead, it's far superior to Brian's. What a shame Pet Sounds had such horrible cover art especially compared to that marvelous Sgt Pepper cover. In fact none of the BB's LP cover art is as good as the Beatles. Also, if only 'Good Vibrations' had been on Pet Sounds perhaps it would have received the recognition in it's time that it deserved. PS has a few mediocre tracks but so does Sgt Pepper. |
